The Lord has given us His Word in order for us to know with certainty what life with Him is in reality. And with our world so far from God with endless mixed ideas of Who He is, and what His Truth is in all matters. We MUST do a responsible study of the Bible (2 Timothy 2:15-16 KJV), relying on the Spirit’s leading (Romans 8:14 KJV), in order to learn God’s perspective of life – His Truth!

2 Timothy 3:16-17
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Did you ever wonder why God created man? Was mankind created just to ‘pass the time’ for the Lord? Did the Lord create man for fun? Is man and the universe ultimately purposeless?

Today with the ‘hindsight’ of the Scriptures which gives us God’s view of creation, and the history of His dealings with man over the period of about 6000 years since our universe’s creation. We are given God’s revealed purpose of man:

Introducing the Study Of Man, as taught in the Bible, it will be helpful to start with Man’s Purpose so that throughout this course, man’s purpose will be reinforced as we go along.

Simply stated, Man’s Purpose is ‘to enjoy life WITH God’, where he will learn to love God with all of His being. Man wasn’t created to do his own thing and ignore his Creator…

“And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.” (Deuteronomy 6:5).

“And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.” (Mark 12:28-30).

Loving the Lord with all of our being may be regarded as our ‘intimate’ purpose. Where it is our individual, personal response to Him, that happens out of view of others that is primarily between us and the Lord. We may say that we love the Lord, and if that is false we may fool people, but we will never fool the Lord. He knows our hearts and minds better than we do (Jeremiah 17:10 KJV).
